Meet our Staff

Rev. Tom Meyer and Rev. Sue Sheffer-Meyer are both graduates of Wartburg Theological Seminary. Married for 24 years they have served congregations in Brookfield, Madison, Fairwater/ Rogersville, Marion, and most recently, St. Paul's in La Crosse (Pastor Tom) and Peace Lutheran, Tomah, where Pastor Sue served 4 years as the mission developer. Pastor Meyer is a native of Nebraska, while Pastor Sheffer-Meyer is from Oshkosh, WI.

I feel richly blessed to be part of the Ministry team here at Immanuel-Trinity. Having been a part of the Lutheran faith for my entire life, I am so grateful to be in a position of teaching, encouraging, nurturing and guiding church goers of all ages to praise and glorify God through the gift of music. This is a calling for which I have had a life-time passion.
The daughter of a pastor, I grew up in a Lutheran parsonage and my mother was a church choir director and a musican. I've been singing in church for longer than I can remember, and Lutheran musical heritage has been, and is, a very important part of my life.
I received a B.A. in music from Bethany Lutheran College in Lindsborg, KS, and pursued graduate vocal studies at a variety of schools during the last two decades. I have been a private vocal instructor at Fond du Lac High School, Marian, Universty, UW Fond du Lac, and Lakeland College, as well as chorus teacher at St Mary's Springs High School for three years. Additionally, I have directed a number of choirs and participated in teaching Sunday School and Bible School at various churches.
I am the proud mother of twin adult daughters, Rachel and Rebecca.
In addition to parenting, singing and teaching, I also enjoy sewing and crafting, attending concerts and music festivals, traveling, history, visual arts, and socializing.

As the newly hired Christian Education/Youth Director of Immanuel-Trinity, I am blessed and honored to join fellow staff members and the congregation in a role that will enhance and continue the rich history of Lutheran theology and Christian education at I.T. I look forward to working with the Christian Education committee, dedicated volunteers, committed staff, and most importantly the youth of our congregation in order to provide the best possible Christian education program at all age levels.
I have had the pleasure of volunteering as the Daycamp/Vacation Bible School Coordinator for the last three years at I.T. and it is always exciting to witness the presence, praise and sharing of God's love each day on the faces and in the hearts of the campers, youth volunteers, and adult volunteers. I'm grateful for the opportunity to expand and share in the power of His love as Christian Education/Youth Director.
